Durler Consulting Ltd was founded in 2001 by Julian Dawson. A well travelled former British army officer, he set out to establish businesses in the Far East and found that the scarcity of highly qualified, but also highly principled and motivated business leaders, was very acute.
He concentrated the mining practice on finding exceptional people for very difficult roles in difficult contexts, many of our case studies are therefore cross-border, multi-jurisdictional or have multicultural implications.
The business is focussed on international board members and senior managers for small to medium sized exploration and production companies (private and public), although many of our contacts are entrepreneurial ex-blue chip professionals with great technical or functional credentials, often with language skills. Our methodology is based around a networking focus, where our client account directors simply mix a great deal with industry figures in order to maintain close contact with the industry and the key people in it.

Beyond this, our specialist researchers (who identify applicants for roles) tap into our existing networks to ensure any individuals to be identified come with a strong recommendation, bringing not only strong attributes developed outside your own contact group, but also the comfort of having identifiable links with key industry figures.
